Wild Chamomile with Apples

A small still life with soft white chamomile flowers, deep red apples and gentle lavender tones.

I was drawn to the contrast between the loose scatter of tiny flowers and the round, weighty shapes of the apples behind them. The soft purple shadows and visible brushwork give the piece a quiet, layered feeling, with little points of yellow bringing warmth through the foreground.
