I am an abstract artist creating in Gumbaynggirr Country / Coffs Harbour.

Since 2010 I have worked (and currently continue to work) in the textile and fibre arts field.  My area of expertise is dyeing fibre and experimenting with different dyeing methods and techniques. I have always loved colour so for me this has been an amazing experience and I have learnt so much.  

During lockdown in 2020 I begun my journey into abstract paining.  I am drawn to bold shapes and colour, layers and line. I am always in awe of how colour appears in the world around me, so my inspiration comes from what I see every day.  I am fortunate to live in a beautiful coastal city, so I have lot's of inspiration to draw on, but I absolutely love traveling and always find inspiration in abundance wherever I go.

For me, my work has a sense of place which emerges as a feeling of familiarity.  Memories of places I have been appear as I paint which guide my choice of colour, shape and line.  These elements ultimately combine to form an abstract visual representation of my travels or visits to places both near and far.
