Tomatoes in a Glass

A small still life study with rich red tomatoes, cool blue shadows and a simple glass bowl.

I was drawn to the way the tomatoes press against the glass, creating layers of red, reflection and soft distortion. The loose brushwork keeps the piece feeling fresh and direct, with the cool background giving the warmth of the tomatoes even more presence.
