Pink Azalea

Pink Azalea began with the vivid pink of an azalea cutting that unexpectedly flowered in my studio. I initially imagined it against a deep neutral, but couldn’t resist pairing it with a rich, saturated green. I love the way the two colours play against each other.

This small oil study is part of my Small Observations series, celebrating the quiet beauty of familiar objects.
