Heralds Of Spring

A botanical painting inspired by the first bright signs of spring.

Where I live, the beginning of spring is marked by the sudden appearance of wattle. After the softer grey tones of winter, that burst of yellow feels energising and full of warmth. I was drawn to the way the flowers seem to arrive all at once, bringing colour and brightness back into the landscape.
